The Families page also provides a directory of the family collections currently available on the website.
Using the Archive
Use the Archive to browse historical records preserved by the Ball Family Association. Archive records may include land plats, military records, genealogical material, photographs, family documents, and other research sources. Open an individual archive record to see its title, description, date, family connection, and available source material.
Viewing Original Documents
Many pages include links to original source documents such as PDFs, scanned records, family histories, land plats, and other archival material. When a View Original Source or similar button appears, use it to open the underlying document and compare the website summary with the original record.
Searching the Website
Use the website search to look for a surname, person, place, military unit, church, land tract, or other keyword. If a search result opens an Archive record, review the record details and any linked source document. Because the same person or family may appear in several collections, also check the related Family page and Archive records for additional information.
Understanding the Research
The Ball Family Association website includes both documented historical records and continuing genealogical research. Whenever possible, original records and source references are provided so visitors can evaluate the evidence for themselves. Some family relationships, dates, locations, or traditions may still be under study and may be updated as new records are found.
