RICHARD BALL Richard Ball (parents and date and place of birth, marriage and death unknown, date of arrival in the Province of South Carolina unknown), was issued a grant of 500 acres of land near Strand’s Spring in St. Johns Parish, Berkeley County, South Carolina 5 February 1704. 1 “Richard Ball has a grant for five hundred acres of land in Berkeley County inland bounding on all sides of land not laid out paying to the Lord’s Proprietors one shilling on every first day of December after the date thereof. The said grant is dated the fifth February 1704 and signed M. Johnson, Ia. Moore, Nichol Trott, Jab Howes” This land was originally granted to Richard Ball in 1704 and descended to George Ball as heir at law to Richard Ball prior to April 1754, and George Ball in burn(?) willed it to Samuel Little, Jr. at George Ball’s death in April, 1754. 2 A MEMORIAL ---- of a tract of five hundred acres of land situated lying and being in St. Johns Parish in Berkeley County in the Province of South Carolina near Strand’s Spring ---- on the fifteenth day of September, Anno Domini 1704, granted unto one Richard Ball at the quit rent of one shilling proclamation money per one hundred acres, and which descended to George Ball, as heir at law to the said Richard Ball ----
