BRYAN AUGUSTUS BALL: Augustus VC, James GM, William F., Edward, Bartholomew; William, Sr. Bryan Augustus Ball, born Augustus Valerius Bryan Hodges Ball (but later in his life he changed his name), was born 16 October 1866, in Texarkana, Texas. His parents were Augustus Valerius Cincinnatus Ball and Argent Worsham West. Bryan’s father, a medical doctor, died in Texarkana in 1868, and about 1878, he and his mother moved to Montgomery, Alabama where they both lived out their lives- Argent dying 2 February 1905. Bryan grew into adulthood in Montgomery. His education; occupation; military service, if any; honors; accomplishments; etc.; are not known to this writer. Bryan married 25 April 1888 at age 22; Elizabeth Catherine Minto, born 15 July 1864, place of birth not known. Her parents were John Minto and wife Margaret Ward. Bryan and Elizabeth were married in St. Peters Catholic Church in Montgomery. Bryan and Elizabeth’s children were: Augusta Elizabeth Ball born 25 March 1889, Montgomery; married 15 July 1917, John Joseph Minto in Montgomery. James Edward Ball born 1 January 1893 in Montgomery. Sally Margaret Ball born 23 December 1895 in Montgomery. Nellie Catherine Ball born 2 July 1900 in Montgomery. Bryan Augustus Ball died 25 September 1954 in Montgomery and is buried at St. Peters Catholic Church Cemetery. Elizabeth Catherine Minto Ball died 7 July 1934 in Montgomery. Place of burial not known.
