William Ball, Sr. William Ball, lived and died in St. John Parish, Berkeley County, South Carolina (1727) as did his son William Ball, Jr. (1729) and his grandson George Ball (1754). William’s sons, Sampson and Bartholomew, had moved to Craven County as early as 1732, perhaps earlier. It is not known when Robert Ball and his family moved there. That Robert and William might have been related is indicated by Robert Ball and his family appearing in Prince Frederick Winyaw Parish, Craven County at about the same period of time as Bartholomew and Sampson, verifying the custom of that day and time of whole families moving together and living in a cluster.
