However, there is one link that we have to the McKelvey family that can be documented. Mary was the only daughter of the first marriage of Thomas Baker, Sr., father of our William Baker, First Deacon of Midway Congregational Church and father of Rebecca who married Edward Ball. Mary married George Flood and their son William married Mary McKelvey, daughter of Alexander McKelvey.

It’s a small world. If one cannot document a relationship for one branch of the family, it may be possible to document for another branch. We must continue our search if we are to determine a relationship to either or both the Colleton and McKelvey families if one should exist.
